    Introduction

Judaism is one of the oldest religions, tracing its historical roots back to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. However, its rejection of Jesus Christ as Messiah has rendered it a spiritually incomplete and false religion in God’s eyes. While the Old Testament forms the foundation of biblical history, Judaism without Christ remains under the Law and in a state of blindness (2 Corinthians 3:14-16). This article outlines 30 key practices and beliefs of Judaism that contradict the valid will of God, as revealed in Jesus Christ, the only way to salvation (John 14:6).

    1. Rejection of Jesus Christ as the Messiah

Scripture: John 1:11 – “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.”

Judaism denies Jesus as the Son of God, thus rejecting salvation itself (Acts 4:12).

    2. Adherence to the Mosaic Law for Righteousness

Scripture: Galatians 2:16 – “A man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ.”

Judaism teaches righteousness through Torah observance, contradicting justification by faith alone.

    3. Belief in Rabbinic Oral Traditions (Talmud) Over Scripture

Scripture: Mark 7:8 – “For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men.”

Judaism’s Talmudic traditions often supersede direct scriptural commands.

    4. Denial of the Triune Nature of God

Scripture: Matthew 28:19—”Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Judaism denies God’s Triune revelation, remaining in incomplete knowledge of His being.

    5. Teaching of Works-Based Atonement Through Yom Kippur Rituals

Scripture: Hebrews 10:4 – “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.”

Their annual sacrifices were only shadows of Christ’s final atonement.

    6. Rebuilding a Third Temple for Sacrifices

Scripture: Hebrews 10:10 – “We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

The sacrifice has been completed through Christ, making the need for a third temple spiritually obsolete.

    7. Practicing Bar Mitzvah as a Spiritual Rite of Passage

There is no biblical command establishing Bar Mitzvah; spiritual maturity is found in Christ (1 Corinthians 13:11).

    8. Observance of Kosher Dietary Laws

Scripture: Mark 7:18-19 – “Whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him… Thus, he declared all foods clean.”

In Christ, dietary laws are fulfilled and no longer binding.

    9. Keeping Sabbath Legalistically

Scripture: Colossians 2:16-17 – “So let no one judge you… regarding a sabbath, which is a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.”

Judaism’s strict Sabbath observance ignores the rest found in Christ alone (Hebrews 4:9-10).

    10. Celebrating Passover Without Recognizing Christ as the Passover Lamb

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 5:7 – “For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.”

Passover finds its ultimate fulfillment in Jesus’ death and resurrection.

    11. Circumcision as a Covenant Requirement

Scripture: Galatians 5:6 – “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.”

Physical circumcision is rendered spiritually obsolete under the New Covenant.

    12. Belief that Gentiles Must Obey Noahide Laws to Please God

Acts 15:28-29 clarifies that salvation for Gentiles comes through faith, not adherence to Noahide or Mosaic Law.

    13. Daily Prayers Facing Jerusalem

While a cultural tradition, prayer must be in Spirit and truth (John 4:23-24), not location-based rituals.

    14. Wearing Tefillin and Prayer Shawls as Spiritual Necessities

External garments do not sanctify the heart (Matthew 23:5).

    15. Kabbalah Mysticism

Kabbalah introduces occultic mystical teachings absent from scripture and condemned by God (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).

    16. Belief in Two Torahs (Written and Oral)

Scripture: Proverbs 30:6 – “Do not add to His words, lest He rebuke you and you be found a liar.”

God gave only His written Word for doctrine.

    17. Refusal to Evangelize Gentiles

Christianity commands evangelism (Matthew 28:19-20); Judaism, on the other hand, often restricts the conversion of Gentiles.

    18. High Priesthood Continues Without Christ

Scripture: Hebrews 4:14 – “We have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God.”

Jesus is the final High Priest.

    19. Hope in a Future Political Messiah

Scripture: John 18:36 – “My kingdom is not of this world.”

Judaism’s hope for a political liberator denies Christ’s true spiritual kingship.

    20. Using Mezuzahs as Spiritual Protection

Protection is in Christ alone, not physical amulets (Psalm 91:1-2).

    21. Yarmulke as a Sign of Reverence

Proper reverence is a heart posture, not external head coverings (Matthew 15:8).

    22. Rosh Hashanah as Sole New Year

Biblically, the New Covenant focuses on rebirth in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

    23. Denial of the Original Sin Doctrine

Scripture: Romans 5:12 – “Through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin.”

Judaism teaches that man is born morally neutral.

    24. Ignoring Isaiah 53 as a Messianic Prophecy

This chapter explicitly prophesies Christ’s atoning death, denied by Jewish interpreters.

    25. Rejecting the New Testament as God’s Word

Scripture warns: “If anyone does not abide in the doctrine of Christ, he does not have God.” (2 John 1:9).

    26. Shavuot Celebrated Without Recognition of Pentecost Fulfillment

Acts 2 demonstrates the prophetic fulfillment of Shavuot in the giving of the Holy Spirit.

    27. Sukkot Without Recognizing God Dwelling Among Us in Christ

John 1:14 – “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”

    28. Using Gematria to Find Hidden Codes

Scripture is clear, direct truth, not hidden codes (2 Peter 1:20-21).

    29. Belief in Human Merit for Salvation

Isaiah 64:6 – “All our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.”

    Only Christ’s righteousness saves.

    30. Expectation of Elijah Without Accepting John the Baptist’s Fulfillment

Matthew 11:14 – “And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come.”

    Historical Context of Judaism

Judaism emerged from God’s covenant with Abraham (Genesis 12), formalized under Moses with the giving of the Law at Sinai (Exodus 19-20). It preserved God’s oracles (Romans 3:2) and bore prophetic witness to the coming Messiah. However, after rejecting Christ (Matthew 27:25; Acts 3:14-15), Judaism became spiritually blind, seeking righteousness through the Law rather than through the Messiah it prophesied.

Jesus and the apostles consistently warned Israel about rejecting Him (Matthew 23:37-39; Romans 9-11). Paul sorrowed for the Jews’ lack of belief while celebrating the grafting of Gentiles into God’s covenant in Christ (Romans 11:17-21). Therefore, Judaism today remains spiritually lost until individual Jews repent and believe in Jesus.

Where Does Judaism Rank as a Religion?

According to global statistics (2025 estimates), Judaism has approximately 15-18 million adherents, ranking it among the top 10 to 12 largest religions in the world. However, numbers are spiritually irrelevant. Only faith in Christ brings salvation (John 3:36).

Conclusion: The True Will of God for Humanity

God’s will is that all come to repentance and faith in Christ (1 Timothy 2:3-4). Those who believe in Jesus may view Judaism and similar religions as incomplete and wrong.

    • John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
    • Acts 4:12 – “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

The Law, sacrifices, and rituals were shadows. Christ is the substance. Pray for the Jewish people to see their Messiah, repent, and enter the New Covenant by faith in Him alone (Romans 10:1-4).
